The Center for Leadership Studies opened its doors in the mid 1960’s. Dr. Hersey had come to California on sabbatical to write and do research. After a taste of the Southern California weather and business opportunities, he set down permanent roots. The Center’s main business dealings are still run out of the same building he purchased.

Dr. Hersey’s pivotal research around influence and behavior led to the development of the Situational Leadership^® Model. Over the last four decades this model has become the basis of the most prevalent leadership system in the world.
